JUDAEA, Herodians. Agrippa I, 37-43 CE. AE (Bronze, 27 mm, 16.11 g, 12 h), Caesarea Maritima. [ΤΙΒΕΡΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ ΓΕΡ] Laureate head of Claudius to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΜΕΓ[ΑΣ Α]ΓΡΙΠΠΑΣ ΦΙΛΟΚΑΙΣ Distyle temple within which Agrippa and Claudius, both togate facing one another and each holding a patera in his right hand; in the background between them, veiled female figure facing to right, holding a bust (?) in her right hand; below, figure kneeling to left, restraining offering; in pediment, L Ζ (date). Kindler 54. Meshorer 8. RPC I 4983. Rare and with an unusually complete reverse. Repatinated and with some smoothing, otherwise, very fine.
